Should the elected members of the next Scottish parliament refuse to take the oath to the crown?

The political parties in Scotland have stated their intention to combat sectarianism that blights Scottish society. The first thing they do when the new parliament convenes is to swear an oath to a sectarian institution at the heart of the British establishment. Does this not encourage sectarianism rather than fight against it?
