How can i have strep throat with no pain?

Two days ago I had a fever and a sore throat. The fever wasnt too high and i get sore throats alot so i took tylenal and just tried to let it go away on its own, and when i woke up today the pain was gone. when i ate breakfast i noticed my throat felt swollen but it did not hurt. Then later in the day i started to get a headache, so i decided to go to the docter and I tested positive for strep. is it weird that i felt no pain the third day?
