Can dogs get the flu?

Yes they can have the flu. The first sign is what they call "kennel cough". It lasts between 10-21 days, nasal drainage and a low-grade fever. You can not catch the flu from your dog. You should take your dog to the vet and keep it away from any other animals and when you handle the sick dog make sure you wash your hands before handling another animal.
