I had a tonsillectomy when I was five due to frequent strep throat. I am now in my 20's and having issues with my lymph nodes. (awaiting a ct scan and further testing) we have a family history of hodgkins lymphoma. My question is, would it be possible that the tonsils that were removed mistaken for a "normal circumstance"and have actually been lymphoma? Could lymphoma come back years later if that were the case? Is there a risk factor for people getting HD if they've had a prior tonsillectomy? Thank you!
