38 weeks irregular contractions?

I am 38 weeks irregular contractions off and on throughout the day but nothing consistent.. I am also 3.5 cm dilated.This is my second baby, my first was almost 3 weeks early. I am trying everything to get this baby out i.e. sex, walking, swimming you name it. I can't have my membranes stripped b/c I have group strep b. Anyone ever been in this situation and how long did it last before true labor?
